EXPO TO SEE LAUNCH OF IRELAND’S FIRST EVER BLUE LIGHT AWARDS

Mar 5, 2026 | Featured Articles

The Emergency Services & Military Expo 2026, taking place on Thursday 19 March at the RDS, Dublin, will see the official launch of the IRELAND BLUE LIGHT AWARDS 2026, which will recognise individuals and teams across the blue light services who demonstrate extraordinary commitment in protecting and serving our communities.

EMERGENCY SERVICES IRELAND is the Media Partner of this year’s Emergency Services & Military Expo, with events taking place on Thursday 19 March in Dublin and on Thursday 10 September in Athlone.

This is Ireland’s sole event specifically designed to support and guide emergency services and military personnel looking to advance within their current roles, discover new opportunities following retirement, or seeking out new careers.

The ‘Emergency Services & Military Expo 2026’ will bring together serving and former members of An Garda Síochána, the Defence Forces and Reserve, Fire and Emergency Services, Prison Service, Coast Guard, ambulance and medical services – and the organisations that support them.

“This Expo is about recognising the value of service, creating real opportunities, and ensuring people have the right information and support at every stage of their career,” according to Stephen Moore, Expo Organiser, who founded ‘Out of the Blue Training & Employment Services’ in late 2023, after spending 20 years as a member of An Garda Síochána, where he trained over 2,000 Gardaí on interview techniques.

The Expo in Dublin’s RDS will be the fifth one to be rolled out by Stephen and his team, since the first one took place in April 2024, with another event to follow later this year in the Radisson Hotel in Athlone on Thursday 10 September. He says it has now “become an invaluable resource for everyone within the emergency and military services as they navigate their next career steps”.

It will feature a range of keynote speakers and panel discussions, covering topics such as fitness and health, upskilling opportunities, coaching, transitioning from service and essential financial advice and services information. A dedicated Q&A session will also provide a platform for interaction with both serving and retired members, alongside industry leaders and educational institutions.
