Momentum continues to build around the inaugural Ireland Blue Light Awards, with all nominations and entries now to remain open until Sunday 7 June due to the huge level of interest from Ireland’s emergency and frontline services community.
The Ireland Blue Light Awards have been launched to recognise, honour and celebrate the exceptional dedication, professionalism and service shown by those who work in statutory, voluntary and community-led emergency and frontline services across the country.
The agencies include An Garda Síochána, Fire and Rescue Services, the National Ambulance Service, Irish Coast Guard, Defence Forces, Irish Prison Service, Civil Defence, volunteer search and rescue teams, frontline healthcare responders and community first responders.
The awards are free to enter, with nominations welcomed from individuals, colleagues, organisations and members of the public. The event organisers have said that the response to date has been exceptional, with a high level of entries already received from across Ireland ahead of the highly anticipated gala awards ceremony on Saturday 15 August in Dublin.
Jason Gillard, co-founder of the awards, added: “The response to the inaugural Ireland Blue Light Awards has already exceeded expectations, with nominations arriving from right across Ireland’s emergency and frontline services community. Extending the deadline gives even more people the opportunity to recognise the individuals and teams who go above and beyond every single day in service to others.”

Stephen Moore, founder of ‘Out of the Blue Training’, said that the emergency and frontline services communities across Ireland are filled with remarkable individuals and teams who often go above and beyond without recognition. “The Ireland Blue Light Awards will provide an important platform to celebrate that commitment and shine a light on the people supporting and protecting communities every day.”
The Ireland Blue Light Awards are being delivered in association with Out of the Blue Training’s ‘Emergency Services and Military Expo’. ‘Emergency Services Ireland’ is the Media Partner, while Little Blue Heroes Foundation will be the Charity Partner. An independent panel of judges, who will oversee the judging process, will feature respected leaders from the emergency services, business, media and public sector.
Companies to date supporting the awards programme include EHS International (Gold Partner); Lena By Inspire (Silver Partner), while Hunter Apparel Solutions, Nomadic Watches, Cherton Secure and Weir Events are on board as the Category Partners.
The gala awards ceremony on Saturday 15 August at the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road, Dublin will bring together emergency service personnel, frontline workers, organisations, supporters and guests from across Ireland for a night dedicated to recognising courage, commitment, teamwork and service. The event will be co-hosted by Alan Shortt and Pamela Ballantine.
